The BIST core team has recently incorporated a new member, Dr. Núria Royo, who has been designated Head of Strategic Development.
Dr. Royo joins BIST from her previous role as a Medtech Consultant for companies in Silicon Valley (CA, USA). She holds a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Rutgers University (USA) and a degree in Telecommunications Engineering from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC). She has extensive experience in technological development in academic, startup, and commercial environments, having held research positions at Rutgers University, University of California Irvine, and University of Southern California, and biomedical engineering roles at InCube Labs, SacraMed Inc., Rani Therapeutics LLC., and Magnus Medical, Inc.
The new Head of Strategic Development will work on initiatives aimed at fostering multidisciplinary cooperation among the BIST Community, particularly in precision medicine and technology-driven research, to strengthen and support innovation stemming from frontier research.
Dr. Royo brings a strong background in scientific leadership, project management, and international collaboration to the role. Her experience will be a great asset for the BIST Community. Welcome on board!
