IRB BioMed Seminar

by Dr. Sarah Knox  –  Professor, Department of Cell and Tissue Biology, University of California | San Francisco, CA, United States

Host: Salvador Aznar Benitah, Ph.D. – Group Leader, Stem Cells and Cancer, Aging and Metabolism Programme Coordinator

Abstract:

The Knox lab’s research program focuses on discovering the mechanisms through which epithelial organs develop and regenerate after injury. Using the murine salivary gland and cornea as model systems, their studies have revealed peripheral nerves to be drivers of stem cell maintenance, tissue architecture, cell identity, and cell replacement, and do so through specific regulatory pathways.
