This talk will present new drivers of immune resistance in melanoma, but involving mechanisms that apply to other tumor types as well.
The starting point was a series of animal models that the Soengas group developed to visualize premetastatic niches in vivo. These systems, which they termed as MetAlert, allowed them to define when and where are these premetastatic sites activated.
Here she will show how this information, combined with validation studies in large patient cohorts, allows for gene discovery and for pharmacological analyses of anticancer agents.
