Abstract
Development of patient friendly non-contact optical diagnostics technologies is an emerging area of biophotonics. A number of camera-based prototype devices for spectral, fluorescent and photoplethysmography imaging of skin malformations (with subsequent extraction of clinically useful information) have been developed and validated in Riga over the recent decade. Designs and applications for skin melanoma screening, mapping of skin chromophore distribution, evaluation of sepsis severity and remote control of anaesthesia efficiency will be discussed.
