Viola Vogel of the Laboratory of Applied Mechanobiology (ETH Zurich) will give a talk as part of the 2019/2020 BIST Colloquium series on March 31, 2020 at the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC), a BIST centre.

Viola Vogel is a Professor of the Department of Health Science and Technology at the ETH Zürich, Switzerland. She is heading the Laboratory of Applied Mechanobiology and was Chair of the Department for two years (2018-2019). She made pioneering contributions in applied mechanobiology by deciphering nanoscale mechanisms how mechanical forces switch molecular and cellular functions, and illustrated how to exploit such information for biomedical and technical applications.

The colloquium is part of the BIST Master curriculum but is also open and free for anyone interested in coming. If you would like to attend, please send us an email at communication@bist.eu.
