Barcelona will hold the second edition of the Biennal Ciutat i Ciència, a massive event organised by Barcelona’s City Council which aims to bring scientific knowledge closer to the public.
Within “La Nit de la Ciència”, a Pecha Kucha will take place on the topic of breaking the boundaries between art, science, and technology. Several researchers from the BIST centres – ICIQ, ICFO, IBEC and ICN2 – will present their work to a diverse audience in the special Pecha Kucha format used in artistic performances (20 images for 20 seconds each).
The event will be divided in 2 parts:
The first one, La nit – Pecha Kucha express: art, science, technology, from 9.15 pm to 9.55 pm will involve the participation of the following scientific researchers and artists:

- Pedro Gómez-Romero (INC2)
- Samuel Sánchez (IBEC)
- Mónica Rikić
- Mario Santamaria
- Joana Moll
The second one, La nit – Pecha kucha express i live coding (music), from 10.25 pm to 12 am will involve the participation of the following scientific researchers and artists:
- Maciej Lewenstein (ICFO)
- Reiko Yamada (artista en ICFO)
- Antoine Reserbat-Plantey (ICFO)
- Anna Carreras
- Martí Ruiz Carulla
- Eloi Maduell

All activities will be carried out with appropriate safety measures given the global health situation. Spaces will largely be open and outdoors with limited capacity, and all activities, with some exceptions, will require prior registration through the Biennial website.
