The 2023 MMRES Annual Ceremony will celebrate the graduation of the 2022/2023 class and to welcome the 2023/2024 incoming students of the Master of Multidisciplinary Research in Experimental Sciences (MMRES) The event will be held at La Pedrera Auditorium.
The Ceremony will count with a keynote speech by Dr. Stefanie K. Wculek, Junior Group Leader at the BIST Community centre IRB Barcelona. Dr. Wculek has recently been awarded an ERC Starting Grant to study how dendritic cells and neutrophils adapt to different tissues, organs and physiological conditions, especially in the context of ageing. In her speech, entitled “Linking Metabolism and anti-cancer funcions of dendritic cells”, attendants will learn about Wculek’s discoveries on the surprising diversity of functions and dependencies of dendritic cells, macrophages and neutrophils in vivo in health and non-infectious (inflammatory) diseases.
