Role models for girls. The function of female researchers. 

Dr. Liat Ben David is an experienced professional in the field of education in general, and in STEM in particular.
Dr. Ben David holds a Ph.D. in molecular biology from the Weizmann Institute of Science; an M.Sc. in neurobiology from the Weizmann Institute of Science; and a B.Sc. in microbiology from the Tel-Aviv University.
Since 1991, Dr. Ben David has developed 3 decades of experience in STEM-education, including the establishment of knowledge and learning centers, curriculum development and implementation, leadership development etc., both in Israel and the USA.
Between 2011 and 2017 she served as CEO of the Wolf Foundation, awarding the internationally acclaimed Wolf Prize, recognizing excellent Scientists and Artists worldwide, second only to the Nobel Prize.
In 2017, she was appointed CEO of The Davidson Institute – the Educational Arm of the Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel.
Liat lectures and teaches regularly in various spheres, including academia and TEDx. She is an accomplished author who has published numerous books – fiction and non-fiction – as well as articles in Hebrew and English. Her latest book – “The story of our lives: homo sapiens secrets of success” is due to be published in April 2022 by World Scientific Publishing.

Liderar en l’entorn científic en l’empresa privada i en els organismes públics

Teresa Tarragó és cofundadora i CEO de l’empresa biotecnològica EXHEUS i membre de l’equip directiu d’Accure Therapeutics. Científica i empresària. És experta en biologia molecular aplicada al descobriment de nous fàrmacs i en transferència de tecnologia. Ha estat nominada com una de les 10 millors empresàries europees en el camp de la biotecnologia (2019). I MIT Enterprise Forum li va concedir el premi amb Exheus com millor empresa innovadora liderada per dones (2020).

Elvan studied Molecular Biology & Genetics in her native Turkey. She performed her PhD in Cancer Research UK – Manchester Institute (UK). Next, she moved to Harvard Medical School (Boston, USA) for her postdoctoral studies on the organisation of the egg cytoplasm. In 2017, Elvan started her own lab in CRG, Barcelona and received the prestigious European Research Council Starting Grant. Elvan is recently selected to be a European Molecular Biology Organisation (EMBO) Young Investigator (2021). Her work is routinely published in international journals with high impact.
