Profile

Peng Xiao is a PhD student in the Phononic and Photonic group at ICN2. He received his B.S. in Microelectronics at the JiangNan University (China) in 2015, and a M.S. in Nanomaterial at the Gachon University (South Korea) in 2018. His current research at ICN2 focuses on the study of the thermal properties of Transition Metal Dichalcogenides materials and their related sensing applications.

Project

Photon-Phonon interaction in 2D materials by laser and thermal spectroscopies

Recently two-dimensional materials (2D materials) have been widely studied, due to their unique optical and thermal properties. To investigate the science of photon-phonon interactions in these increasingly important technological nanomaterials. It is proposed to study these interactions in the Transition Metal Dichalcogenides nanomaterials using time-domain thermoreflectance, inelastic light scattering, THz spectroscopy and a series of thermal methods.
