ICIQ ”La Caixa” junior group leader, Dr. Fabio Juliá has been awarded the ‘Young Investigator 2022’ Prize, awarded annually by Lilly and the Spanish Royal Society of Chemistry (RSEQ). The prize distinguishes young Spanish investigators under the age of 40 for scientific excellence and professional potential.

Dr. Juliá’s award-winning work focuses on using visible light as a source of energy to trigger more sustainable (environmentally and economically) chemical reactions that are used to obtain many products integral for the development of our society.

This award is a great recognition to the work carried out. It is an honour to join the list of previous awardees, who are spearheading chemical research in Spain and globally,” says Juliá.

The ‘Young Investigator 2022 Prize,’ which includes an endowment of 4000 €, will be officially awarded during the Biennial Meeting of the RSEQ held in Granada from June 27-30. To honour the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Lilly-RSEQ Young Investigator prize, a second ceremony will be held at the Spanish Lilly headquarters in October, where Dr. Juliá has also been invited to give a talk.
