Dr. Andreu Mas-Colell and Dr. Rolf Tarrach join the Advisory Council of PN@SC

Dr. Andreu Mas-Colell, President of the Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology (BIST), and Dr. Rolf Tarrach, BIST Board of Trustees member, have joined the Advisory Council of the National Agreement for a Knowledge-based Society (PN@SC: Pacte Nacional per a la Societat del Coneixement in Catalan).

The PN@SC was established to create a reference framework for future policies in the areas of research and innovation and universitites, and aims to promote a knowledge-based society with the goal of increasing economic development and social welfare.

The agreement includes open debates and proposals from the various social agents involved in the generation, transmission and application of knowledge (universities, research and development organizations, and stakeholders from the social and economic sector).

The Advisory Council of the PN@SC is made up of forty key people from the scientific, educational, and business fields who advise the PN@SC managing bodies.
