The Fundació Catalunya La Pedrera Crazy about Science programme (‘Bojos per la ciència‘) is accepting applications for its 2021 edition until October 29, 2020.  This year-long science mentorship programme gives students in the first year of their baccalaureate the opportunity to work at international science research institutions, including six BIST centres: IBEC, ICFO, ICIQ, ICN2, IFAE, and IRB Barcelona.

Crazy about Science is a year-long science mentorship programme organised by the Fundació Catalunya La Pedrera, an institutional member of the BIST Board of Trustees. The programme is designed for students in the first or second year of their baccalaureate who are eager to learn more about scientific research. Students take theoretical and practical courses taught by researchers at Catalan research centres of excellence. The sessions take place on Saturdays throughout the year and include hands-on work in cutting-edge laboratories alongside leading researchers.

Students who complete the programme are well positioned for a possible professional career in scientific research.

In this edition, six BIST centres will be hosting students in four different scientific disciplines. Details can be found through the links below.

Bioengineering: Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC)

PhysicsInstitute of Photonics Science (ICFO), Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (INC2), Institute for High Energy Physics (IFAE)
