BIST researchers awarded 2018 ERC starting grants

Two researchers working at BIST centres have been awarded the prestigious 2018 European Research Council (ERC) Starting Grants this week.

The European Research Council (ERC) announced the 2018 winners of the prestigious ERC Starting Grants this week. Among the winners were two researchers working at the centres of the Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology (BIST):

Elisabet Romero of the Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) for her project entitled “Engineering Bio-Inspired Systems for the Conversion of Solar Energy to Hydrogen”

Klaas-Jan Tielrooij of the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2) for his project entitled “Controlling Ultrafast Heat in Layered materials”
