Following recommendations by health authorities to stop the spread of COVID-19, the Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology staff has been working from home since last Friday. As of now, BIST headquarters will remain closed until the state of emergency has been lifted.
The seven BIST centres have also taken steps to protect their teams and reduce the risk of new infections. Meetings, travel, and other activities have been suspended, while flexible working hours and teleworking are now the norm. Only authorised people have access to the various sites and only when their presence in laboratories is indispensable to sustain critical research, as well as ensure the proper functioning of essential services and infrastructures of the different buildings.
