The Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology (BIST) Board of Trustees met on June 25, 2019 to discuss the projects and success stories of BIST throughout 2018. The day also marked the official launch of the 2018 BIST Annual Report and a new BIST Science & Art project, and culminated in a unique visit to the new “Albert Einstein” auditorium currently under construction at the Escola Industrial neighbouring the BIST offices.

The 2019 BIST Board of Trustees meeting included a presentation by BIST Director Gabby Silberman about the many successful projects undertaken by BIST in 2018. These success stories are also detailed in the 2018 BIST Annual Report, now available for download here.

The meeting attendees were also presented with a unique piece of art by artist Patrick Subirats as part of an initiative to start joining the worlds of science and art at BIST. The digital print, from an original by Patrick Subirats and produced by Apart Edicions in Barcelona, is a limited edition, each copy signed and numbered by the artist.

Finally, the group enjoyed a guided visit of the “Albert Einstein” auditorium currently under construction at the Escola Industrial. The auditorium was visited by Albert Einstein in February 1923 after he was invited there by the leaders of the Mancomunitat de Catalunya. The Diputació de Barcelona is investing almost 5 Million euros in the restauration, which will preserve the original architecture of Joan Rubió i Bellver.
