#100tífiques: Training and Networking Meet-up
The Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology (BIST) and the Fundació Catalana per a la Recerca i la Innovació (FCRI), with the support of the ‘Departament d’Educació de la Generalitat de Catalunya’, are organising the 3rd edition of the #100tífiques programme, which will celebrate the International Day of Women and Girls in Science on February 11th, 2021 by organising talks by female scientists to schools all over Catalonia. Some 480 schools have requested talks for their students, and about 450 female researchers have registered to speak – 137 from private entities and more than 300 from research centres and universtities – making this year’s edition the largest and most popular #100tífiques edition thus far.
The objective is to promote STEAM disciplines among 11-12 years old students (from the 6th year in primary school to the 1st year in secondary school) while also recognising the contributions of women researchers to the advancement of science.
To support the women scientists participating in this initiative and boost networking among them, BIST and FCRI organised the #100tífiques • Trobada de formació i networking (Training and Networking Meet-up) on January 21st. This online event was designed to celebrate and discuss the active contributions of women in science and how to give them visibility to promote female researchers as role models among boys and girls. The event included guest speakers, forum discussions, and helpful presentations for preparing the talks that will take place on February 11th. More than 300 participants attended the event. Missed the event? The presentation recordings can be accessed through the links below.
