Opinion piece: Maria García-Parajo of ICFO shares her thoughts on why there are still so few leading women in science

Maria García-Parajo, ICREA Research Professor working at the Institute of Photonic Science (ICFO), has recently written an article in Biofísica Magazinedescribing her thoughts on why there are still so few women in leadership positions in the sciences.

In the article, Dr. García-Parajo shares some of her own experiences with the number of women in the sciences, describes that the number of women in the early stages of scientific careers is indeed growing (not large, but growing), and outlines some of the reasons why there are still very few women in leading positions within scientific research.
