BIST collaborating to deliver 2nd annual Banco Sabadell Foundation Science and Engineering Award

The Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology is collaborating with the Banc Sabadell Foundation, a member of the BIST board of trustees, to deliver the 2018 Banco Sabadell Foundation Science and Engineering Award for the second year in a row.

The award aims to encourage and reward excellent work in the field of sciences and engineering by Spanish researchers and will present the winner with a financial reward of 50,000 euros.

The jury, led by Andreu Mas-Colell, BIST President, will announce their decision during the month of July. This will be followed by an official awards ceremony in Barcelona.

2017 winner: Romain Quidant of the BIST centre ICFO (The Institute of Photonic Sciences)

Prize details: In order to be eligible, researchers must have an outstanding career in the field of sciences and engineering, must be under the age of 43, and must have spent at least three years doing research within the field in Spain (whether as Spanish or foreign nationals). Nominations must be made by people connected with universities or research centres and must be submitted online by April 30th. More information and submission instructions can be found here.
